Sisterhood Mental Health Boxes CBR was started by me, Jamila, a business owner based in Canberra, ACT. My passion is to bring joy to my neighbourhood. But where did it all start? My journey began when I started battling my own lived experience of mental health for several years. I created my own self-care tool box kit, which helped me find my way back home. This passion grew stronger when I lived in Canberra since 1996.

The creativity of making mental health self-care boxes inspired me to create quality boxes for those who need them most and are vulnerable in the community.

In 2025, Sisterhood started by making genuine donations of mental health boxes to the Canberra Hospital psychiatric ward. Approximately 14 patients will receive a self-care package to help them focus on wellness and recovery. We hope to deliver donated mental health boxes across all psychiatric wards in Canberra.
